Comba Telecom Poised for Large-Scale Impact at World's Premier Mobile Technology Event

Leading global wireless solutions provider to showcase infrastructure offerings at 2016 edition of Mobile World Congress

Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited, a world leader in wireless network infrastructure solutions, today announced its participation at the 2016 GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC), the upcoming edition of the world’s largest mobile technology show, to be held in Barcelona from 22 to 25 February.

The annual four-day event is widely regarded as a launch-pad for breakthrough mobile technologies, and consistently attracts the world’s largest companies, eager to use the show to debut their hottest new products.

Mankind’s use of mobile technologies continues to swell at a dizzying rate. According to recent report1, global mobile traffic grew 74% in 2015, to reach 3.7 exabytes per month by the end of the year, up from 2.1 exabytes per month at the end of 2014 (1 exabyte = 1bn gigabytes). When examining the expansion in mobile data usage over the past decade, there has been a 4,000-fold growth. The report also shows that 4G traffic exceeded 3G traffic for the first time last year.

This year at MWC, Comba Telecom will concentrate on showcasing its large-scale offerings, such as its healthcare solutions that are designed to work in environments fraught with interference from sensitive equipment.

Comba Telecom (Hall 5, Stand 5A31) will also showcase its high-speed railway wireless solutions. One such deployment in Hong Kong will employ a multi-system, multi-band infrastructure to deliver cellular DAS and Wi-Fi coverage that is seamless across stations and trains, to around 99,000 passengers per day.

Visitors to the company’s MWC stand will also be able to see demonstrations of its sports stadiums offerings. In Brazil, in 2014, the company rolled out an eight-stadium solution, using 203 master units, 423 remote units, 105 POIs and more than 3,000 antennas. The system serviced 300,000 calls and 24,000 data users per stadium.
