Hive Technology has been selected by Climate Change - The New Economy (CCTNE), the leading publication on Climate Change at the G7 and COP Summits, to write the lead statement on Integrating SMART solutions with Single Identification Technology for the 2016 G7 Summit in Japan.
Single identification is becoming more and more of a requirement in our daily lives. The use of multiple methods to identify people for example passports, identity, bank, loyalty and access cards, mobile phones, keys and remote controls will complicate life dramatically as society moves into a digital era. Technology is increasingly embedded in all aspects of life and where we might interact with technology through applications at the moment, technology will become more pervasive and ambiguous. Interaction with these technologies will require a form of wireless identification that can trigger or enable embedded algorithms without any human interaction.
Even though this sounds like something that we will only face in the distant future, the world is rapidly moving into a digital or SMART era where more and more of what happens around us will be automated. It is critically important to implement single identification before technologies are rolled out in mass with different identification requirements that will require costly consolidation and disruption later.
The article will critically evaluate the prerequisites of single identification technology and the impact this will have on governments, individuals and society at large.
