Dubai, UAE, 5 January 2016: HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, has inaugurated the DEWA Strategy Week, scheduled to take place from 3—7 January 2016. Strategy Week will promote DEWA’s updated corporate values, improve the UAE’s competitiveness and Dubai’s position as a global hub for green economy and sustainability, and instilling a culture of innovation, creativity and excellence within the UAE, to support of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
DEWA will present its updated government values during Strategy Week, as well as the updated model for planning, which uses different strategic scenarios. The event is being held at Raffles Hotel Dubai, DEWA’s offices in Warsan (in addition to the main office), and at DEWA’s Sustainable Building in Al Quoz. At the end of each showcase, participants have the opportunity to win prizes through a raffle draw.
“We take inspiration from the wise words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who said that “Every effort by the government aims to make people happy and content. Achieving people’s interests is a government priority before anything else; it is imperative for the government to be proactive and innovative, and compete with itself. It does not wait or delay, but rather foresees prospects for the future. Government work must focus on achieving results in the field that reflect positively and effectively in people's daily lives. Our values support the UAE Vision 2021 and the Dubai Plan 2021 and the long-term Green Economy for Sustainable Development initiative to build a green economy in the UAE, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to transform the UAE into a leading global hub for the export, and re-export of products, and green technologies,” said Al Tayer.
“DEWA provides world-class government services, to achieve its vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility. Innovation plays a major role in our daily operations to further develop our performance, and the efficiency of our services, to make people as happy as possible.
We aim to make Dubai the smartest city in the world through our initiatives to enhance sustainable, social, economic, and environmental development, within Dubai, and the UAE as a whole,” added Al Tayer.
“Our employees and stakeholders are constantly kept up to date with our strategy and corporate values that have been reviewed, and streamlined into five corporate values, allowing DEWA to meet requirements, to achieve fast growth in Dubai, and to adopt a sustainable development strategy, assuring that generations to come are provided with clean water and electricity.
