Dubai, January 5, 2016: Emirates Post Group (EPG) successfully concluded its ‘Save Energy’ campaign that was focused on raising awareness of reducing electricity consumption at its head office and all post-offices across the UAE.
Employees at the head office in Dubai and all postal outlets in the UAE took part in the month-long campaign by going around each department and section, and sticking specially designed stickers above light switches, urging employees to switch off lights when not needed.
Chief Commercial Officer of EPG, Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam, commented: “Emirates Post Group is strongly committed to campaigns that promote conservation of environment through different ways. One of them is switching off lights when not needed and setting the AC thermostat to the recommended level (24 deg. C). We commend the employees for their whole-hearted participation in this important campaign which, we believe, will result in substantial reduction in electricity consumption at all our premises.”
The campaign was launched by the EPG Corporate Communications Department first at the head office in Ramool, Dubai, and was gradually extended to post-offices in all six zones spread across the UAE. Directors of each postal zone coordinated with different post-offices to implement the campaign effectively.
Employees in each location joined in putting up stickers next to electric switches carrying the slogan ‘Please turn the light off when not needed’. Hundreds of such stickers were put up in all buildings and offices of EPG, thus driving home the message that switching off lights not only saves power consumption but helps reduce environmental damage.
Emirates Post Group encourages its employees to actively participate in CSR initiatives that are designed to render assistance to the community. Employees are also encouraged to be volunteers in different humanitarian and community activities that are conducted round the year at different EPG locations throughout the country.
