During this Ramadan, Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana embarked on a visit to the construction area of the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs in collaboration with SANID to show appreciation and support for their hard work on the 22nd of June. SANID means “support” in Arabic is a robust volunteer emergency response program in the UAE which provides well-trained emergency response volunteers capable of assisting local and national authorities in the event of a crisis or emergency situation.
The visit to the construction camp was the first of four social activities planned by Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana during the month of Ramadan. This visit was conducted by the line managers and assistants who were supportive of the labourers at the construction camp. In addition, the labourers were engaged in various activities and received Iftar giveaway boxes and telephone credit cards at the end of the event, as a token of appreciation.
The inflow of migrant worker to the GCC countries has accelerated development within the region but their jobs are characterized by long working hours and sometimes under physically and mentally hazardous working conditions. For this reason, Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana saw this as a golden opportunity to give back to these invaluable and hardworking people for their efforts.
“This event was hosted to show our appreciation, support and understanding of the labourers and their working conditions every time. There was no better time to show our gratitude towards them than during the Holy month of Ramadan. Taking responsibility and giving back to the community is an integral part of our philosophy here at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana. This occasion was our own way of saying thank you and that without their hard work, a number of us would not be here today” said Mr. Mark Timbrell, General Manager at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana.
Colleagues from Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana spent time with the labourers to empathize more with their life situations and to show them strong moral support for what they do for a living. There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people spirits up.
