Dubai - May 2015: Adding to its recent stream of awards, Sofitel The Palm Dubai receives the Middle East’s Leading Green Hotel Award at the prestigious World Travel Awards. The French Polynesian themed hotel also bagged the Middle East’s Leading Themed Resort Award amongst other prominent contendors. This award has been distributed for the first time in the region. The World Travel Awards recognises commitment to excellence and is voted by a jury of hospitality experts and peers worldwide. The much coveted and sought after awards programme in the travel and tourism industry was during Arabian Travel Marketing on the 5th of May 2015.
Dubbed as ‘the Oscars of the travel industry’, the World Travel Awards is known as a badge of honour for those within the hospitality sector. In its ongoing endeavors to strive for environmental excellence, Sofitel The Palm Dubai has strikingly snared the Middle East’s Leading Green Hotel Award amidst stiff competition. Situated in the tranquil groves of Palm Jumeirah, the hotel is well acquainted with such symbolic accolades that celebrate its fortitude for performance excellence in the hotel industry. Having been bestowed with several similar recognition within only two years of operations, such as the recent International Hotel Awards for Best Sustainable Hotel for Dubai, a Green Globe Certification, an ISO 14001 Environmental Certification and the Blue Flag Award for Best Beach to name a few, Sofitel The Palm resonates as a true ‘Green leader’ within the Middle East’s hospitality division.
Bringing Polynesian island charm to the Dubai shores, the resort and spa inhibits striking features. Home to vertical gardens, Tahitian motifs on the walls, pristine blue waters and the award-winning So Spa, Sofitel The Palm Dubai is docketed a role model for conservation of the environment. Superfluous of extravagance and indulgence, the hotel manages to cater to its customers and Mother Nature in an uncompromising manner. Christophe Schnyder, General Manager of Sofitel The Palm Dubai, says on their victory “It is always rewarding to achieve such awards that truly recognises our efforts in sustaining and maintaining a five-star luxury resort whilst considering the impact on our environment. The honour winning such a title brings is a great reminder as to why we strive for excellence. We are also delighted to know that the Polynesian culture at the hotel has been appreciated. We decided to inculcate the culture into the architecture, although we may not be recreating Polynesia entirely, its essence will be lingering throughout the hotel. It is a grand victory for the entire team to bring home these awards and it will help strengthen our position as a top-notch luxury themed resort and encourage us to continue our dedication to sustainability and service.”
The French-Polynesian inspired hotel fosters a unique experience for its customers with light, water and greenery surrounding the low-rise resort and spa. With infinity pools that immerse into the Arabian Gulf, and stretches of sandy beaches, Sofitel The Palm Dubai has a magnetic demeanor that is insatiably mystifying and keeps customers coming back for more.
