Luxury French Shoe Maker Repetto, Celebrates 3 years at Dubai Mall

May 2015 Dubai:  This year marks the 3 year anniversary of Repetto’s very first store opening in the UAE.  A momentus occasion in the history of the brand, which started from humble beginnings.

The story of Repetto begins in 1947. Rose Repetto, heeding her son’s advice, started to design her first ballet shoe in a tiny workshop located very close to the National Opera of Paris.Impeccable technical expertise made the slippers an immediate success. French and international dancers flocked to the store, making Repetto the game-changing reference in the dance world.

At Repetto, luxury begins in Périgord, France, in a workshop of exceptional craftsmanship, perpetuating the perfect movement. Repetto craftsmen and women receive extensive training to acquire the unique technique of the original back stitch. Today, Repetto has become a true French Maison of Luxury. 

Each Repetto store is a grand celebration of ballet and the Dubai boutique is no different. It is a unique place of interaction between dancers and Repetto lovers. The brand created a space that reflects ballet’s mythical aura of inspiration and wonder, featuring wooden floors, curtains, bars, ladders and highly placed dance items. 

In contrast, ballerina slippers and shoes, arranged in a circle on round tables, feature a rainbow of coloursheightening desire and inviting clients to lean in for a closer look. 

Distant and intimate areas, gives the space the special feel of a studio or Opera house.Finally, an atelier at the back corner features a creation table where clients and the expert can create customized shoes;  with over 250 leather shades, laces and borders to choose from – there is something for everyone! 

Jean-Marc Gaucher, the CEO began ambitious plans to uniquely position Repetto in the world of luxury goods. Although Repetto is steeped in a tradition of ballet, under the vision of Jean-Marc, the label has explored outside the confines of ballet and today it has a diverse product range that includes dancewear/ active wear, footwear and bags.
