Dana Haidan, head of corporate social responsibility and sustainability at Vodafone Qatar and a CMU-Q graduate, was recently named among the "100 Most Talented CSR Leaders" at the World CSR Congress held in Mumbai, India.
Haidan, a 2009 business administration graduate, has been running Vodafone’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs since 2011.
"Corporate social responsibility to me is no longer an option for companies to be engaged in, as communities around the world demand corporate citizens to do no harm, operate ethically, and to give back to the community. Working in Vodafone Qatar, I am empowered to drive the company's responsible and ethical business conduct through implementing the right policies and programs,” she said.
As a student, Haidan was heavily involved in community service both locally and internationally. After graduating, she spent two years at QatarGas, managing the company's CSR program and social investments.
At Vodafone, Haidan has launched a number of strategic CSR initiatives, including the World of Difference program, which supports community projects; Vodafone For All, a program for people with disabilities; and AmanTech, which helps parents keep their kids safe in the digital world.
During the World CSR Congress, professionals from more than 130 countries came together to discuss best practices in building responsible and sustainable business initiatives. The organization is guided by sustainability executives and experts from around the world.
