Last Update: Monday, March 9, 2015 : 13:26 (+4GMT)
Dubai, UAE, March 9, 2015 – The UAE’s construction sector contributed 7.89 per cent to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of 2014 (Dubai Statistics Centre, 2015), while it poised to make a contribution between 11 and 11.5 per cent to the GDP from 2015 to 2021 (Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 2013). This sustained momentum also bodes well for its Facilities Management industry – a sector set to be worth AED 20 billion in the current year, with significant potential for growth and development. Leading FM companies are leveraging the abundant opportunities in the UAE’s growing construction sector by offering state-of-the-art FM solutions to further strengthen and expand their presence in the country.
FM EXPO, the only dedicated Facilities Management exhibition in the Middle East, taking place in Dubai in May, will address critical industry needs and provide visitors with the tools to capitalize on the upcoming business prospects. The show will bring together the facilities management industry, to discuss trends, challenges and best practices along with showcasing lucrative opportunities in the flourishing sector.
Jaafar Shubber, Senior Project Manager, FM EXPO, said: “The growth in the UAE’s construction sector has created fresh opportunities in the regional FM industry. The customer has become more aware and is demanding integrated, sophisticated FM contracts which not only ensure enhanced services but also result in improved cost efficiencies. FM EXPO 2015 will be a perfect place to gain direct access to key suppliers from across the region and the world, network with FM professionals, and get a deeper insight about the latest industry trends by attending key educational events. The 9th edition of the exhibition will highlight a wealth of new and creative ideas for the UAE’s FM sector.”
Jamal Lootah, CEO, Imdaad, said: “The current boom in the GCC’s construction sector has created lucrative opportunities for the regional and international FM companies. The UAE market is driven towards integrated FM solutions where companies offer informative, transparent and ultra-modern services to its clients. As the Principal Intelligent Partner for the FM EXPO, we will leverage its platform to showcase our unique soft and hard FM services.”
