Nexus Group Wins “Personal Lines Broker” Award at Mena Insurance Industry Awards 2015

Company Reports Steady Growth in Personal Lines Business

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates: Nexus Group, the region’s leading insurance broker, has won the coveted prize of “Personal Lines Broker” at the Mena Insurance Awards 2015. This honour marks the company’s 14th award in nine years.

Nexus Group impressed the panel of expert judges, comprised of industry leaders in the MENA insurance market, with its in-depth understanding of the Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Lebanon markets it operates in, and the “one-stop shop” service it offers for insurance, savings and investment needs.

The annual Mena Insurance Awards recognise and reward those Mena-based insurers, reinsurers and brokers that have demonstrated exceptional customer service and innovative product development over the past 12 months. The 2015 winners were announced on 28 January 2015 at a dinner and presentation ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton DIFC in Dubai.

The personal lines business at Nexus Group showed tremendous growth during 2014, with some segments showing a 33 percent increase year on year, and the total number of active clients climbing 15 percent.

“The growth in our business demonstrates our commitment to understanding and responding to client needs. At Nexus we firmly believe that ‘one size fits no one’ hence, providing face-to-face bespoke financial advice is a key ability for us,” said Tarun Khanna, Nexus Group CEO.

“Nexus Group was founded with a vision to be the preferred broker for client savings and investment needs. We are delighted to start 2015 with such a prestigious award and look forward to growing our business further in the coming year.”

Nexus Group has terms of business with 15 different licensed providers and delivers competent, professional, trustworthy, ethical and quality advice on life, savings, general insurance and employee benefits for clients who wish to review their financial situation to meet specific goals.

As part of the company’s drive to develop and promote professional standards, Financial Consultants are evaluated against the standards of the UK’s Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). After two weeks initial residential training, Financial Consultants are required to achieve the CII Award in Financial Planning within eighteen months of starting their role, followed by the CII Award in Investment Planning.

The firm has its own internal Compliance Department to ensure that all customers have the correct financial product to address their needs and that legal and regulatory requirements are fulfilled. The company also uses technology extensively for purposes including producing quotations and analysing client data.

Over the period that the Awards were judged on, Nexus held 23 customer seminars on topics including savings, protection, succession planning, investments and employee benefits, further reflecting added value for customers.
