Paul Smith Jeans Spring/Summer 15

For spring/summer 15, the Paul Smith Jeans collection takes inspiration from 60's surf and skate culture. A particular reference is the work of Bill Eppridge who captured the early, anarchic days of skateboarding whilst photographing the sport for TIME magazine.

Nodding to sun-drenched afternoons riding pavements and waves, summery shades of yellow and orange are complimented by more muted hues of ecru, grey and navy. A cutout botanical print features heavily across hooded jackets, shirting and shorts and a lightening bolt motif strikes on cotton trousers.

Denim naturally forms a focal point and spring/ summer 15 sees new options inspired by the 60's. A green cast left-hand twill and a red cast with a clear slub twill are both available in washes inspired by thrift store denim; from over-dyed blacks with cotton threads to subtle mids and washed-out lights.

Throughout the collection the silhouette is influenced by the era; trouser shapes are inflated and outerwear is broader in the shoulder and wider through the body. Details also reflect the workwear styles that were prominent at the time with square pockets and neat collars prominent.
