For spring/summer 15, the PS by Paul Smith collection takes inspiration from travels to the caribbean islands
Dubai - 4 January, 2015: In the palette, navy, slate blue, mauve and jade green are contrasted with highlights of acidic yellow, pink and coral. Lush jungle foliage inspires prints whilst tropical sunrises and sunsets inspire the use of subtle hues complimented with deeper, over-saturated tones.
A pixelated camouflage design features as a tonal jacquard in suiting and shirting fabrics and is printed on nylon for outerwear fabric. Mohair is in a heavier yarn with high contrasting warp and weft colours and a piqué jersey offers a contemporary sporty feel when made up in unconstructed styles. Novelty fil coupes of fruits and palm are mementos of exotic voyages.
Throughout, the silhouette is smart and slim. Outerwear shapes are based on military garments with sportswear details, whilst tailoring is kept tight and tidy. Linen is sporty with contrast nylon strapping. Jersey is kept smart and clean using mercerised cotton.
