Pink is Punk Swim:Run is back to Dubai
Last Update: Monday, September 22, 2014 : 16:56 (+4GMT)
The Ignite Pink is Punk Swim:Run event will be hosted for the fourth year running to raise funds for the Safe & Sound Breast Cancer Awareness Program. Anantara The Palm Resort and Spa will be again the venue for initiative that will take place on the 10th of October.
The event is organized by Ignite fitness & wellness. The company has committed to contributing to the community with this event raising funds to support Safe & Sound charity. "Ignite fitness & wellness supports many other external events and causes and has created this event as a way to make a bigger impact on contributing to the cause", says Guillaume Mariole, founder and Managing Director of Ignite fitness &wellness.
This year, organizers will add a new feature to the event. For those who prefer a more relaxing sport, enjoying the joys of nature, there will be a Pink is Punk Moonlight Yoga session, at Anantara Beach, on Monday the 13th of October, at 7:30 pm. The entry fees (of AED 100 for the yoga session and the tickets for the races - AED 150 for adults, AED 250 for teams of two and AED 50 for children) goes entirely towards the cause.
Every 30 seconds a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. With this alarming statistic in mind, Guillaume Mariole began the vision of a healthy, active event such as the Swim:Run to encourage across the board welness whilst contributing to a cause close to his heart. "Each year the smiles on the faces of the participants and the growing numbers really reinforces community spirit to get behind such a great cause", he stresses.
Pink is Punk Swim:Run opens at 6:00 am for pack collection and races start at 7:15 am. Participants will each receive a goody bag on the day and prizes will be given to the place winners of each category. Spectators are welcome to join with an online purchase of ticket.
