United Arab Emirates, Dubai, April 6, 2014: His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority( DHA) launched today the new website for the Authority.
Smartphone/ tablet/pc compatible website:
The smart website is in line with the smart government initiatives that encourages all government entities in Dubai to provide latest information technology (IT) services to the population.
The website, is designed to be compatible with all smartphones, tablets and personal computers so that the website can be easily browsed using any device.
HE Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the DHA said: “In today’s times, just being on the Internet isn't good enough, now your website needs to be accessible and easily navigable on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. That was the rationale behind designing the new website. The new website will work just as well on mobile devices as it does on computers, and this website supports Touch technology. As we move forward, we will keep adding a host of services to this website to enhance user experience as we aim to provide people with solutions on their finger-tips, so that they can access our services while they go about doing their daily work.”
The services include booking appointments, checking vaccination schedules, synchronizing vaccination calendar for your children ,booking medical fitness test packages which have been available on the previous website but will soon be smartphone compatible so that people can easily get access to services using any device that is convenient to them.
Service oriented website:
Mubaraka Ibrahim, Director of IT at the DHA said: “ Making this website smartphone compatible was the first phase of this project, within the next quarter, we will add a host of e-services ( existing as well as new ones) that will be smart phone compatible.”
Linked to 12 sub-sites:
The website, www.dha.gov.ae has twelve sub-sites linked to it including Dubai Hospital, Rashid Hospital, Al Wasl Hospital, DHA Medical Education, DHA Health Regulation etc.
DHA Apps:
In addition to the website, the DHA already has an existing app( DHA), which is free of cost and can be downloaded from any smart platform.
The app offers a host of useful features such as vaccination synchronization option, this means parents can keep track of their child’s vaccination schedule. Once parents fill in the child’s details such as date of birth they will be presented with the required schedule.
The app also has a feature called My Records, where customers can write and save your health details such as Blood Pressure reading, Blood Glucose level, Weight, Height and BMI.
Customers can also calculate your BMI using the app as well as search for a doctor or specialist from the DHA database. They can access information on visiting doctors and can set up an appointment.
The app also offers Health Packages for customers and provides information on where they can access the package. The DHA has 14 primary health centres that offer a variety of screening packages such as diabetes package, women’s health etc and all information on these packages is available on the DHA app.
