150 Students Showcase Talent At Recent Ballet Production
March 2014, Dubai, UAE: The Ballet Centre’s recent production of the classic Tchaikovsky story – The Nutcracker – featured 150 students whose talent was well showcased at two full-house performances, and even saw demand for a third.
“Such shows are a testament to the students’ talents and furthermore re-enforces the grace and beauty of Ballet as an art form”, observed Mangalika Jayalath of the Ballet Centre.
The students are currently preparing for their annual Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Examinations to be held at the end of March and their Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Tap and Modern Dance examinations scheduled for May this year.
In fact, the Nutcracker was choreographed by the Ballet Centre’s Teachers who are all well qualified by the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
“We have 27 years of experience in preparing our students to succeed and this year is no different, we have confidence that our students will do well at the examinations as their progress is monitored by the Centre regularly. In fact, the recent Nutcracker production last month confirmed the level of commitment our students are capable of”, she said.
The Ballet Centre offers Ballet, Tap, Modern, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Boda Drama, Irish Dance, Taekwondo and Piano for children plus Adult Ballet, Zumba and Belly Dancing.
