Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry Sign MoU with Masdar to Promote Abu Dhabi as a Leading Investment Destination

Abu Dhabi: November 20, 2013 - Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Masdar today to promote Abu Dhabi, and in particular Masdar City, as a key investment destination in the United Arab Emirates. The MoU also aims to ease the registration process for companies and investors.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Mohammed Helal Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Operating Officer of Masdar.
The cooperation between ADCCI and Masdar supports their common goal in increasing commercial activities in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and Masdar City. The collaboration of both parties in conferences, workshops and roadshows will showcase the emirate's unique commercial offerings and contribute to attracting international investors to the capital.
ADCCI will allocate a representative at Masdar City's One-Stop-Shop to issue all necessary procedures and documents related to establishing a business in Abu Dhabi. This cooperation is in addition to the One-Stop-Shop's ability to receive new membership certificates and offer comprehensive services to registered and licensed companies in Masdar City.
On the occasion of signing the MoU, His Excellency Mohammed Helal Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reaffirmed the ADCCI's commitment towards providing world class services to members and key stakeholders, including government entities, private companies, institutions, and suppliers setting up operations in Abu Dhabi. He emphasized the importance of the MoU in enabling the private sector's role commercially and strengthening the role ADCCI as a supporter and a representative for the private sector. The collaboration will also help develop efficient mechanisms that will facilitate and simplify the procedures for the issuance or renewal of membership certificates for companies at Masdar City.
Mohamed Al Ramahi, Chief Operating Officer at Masdar, said: “Masdar is keen on establishing a formal framework with ADCCI to offer world class services and unite our efforts to promote commercial development and investments in Abu Dhabi. The One-Stop-Shop at Masdar City, in cooperation with ADCCI, will allow us to cater to the commercial needs of companies and investors at the City in a convenient and efficient manner.”

Masdar City offers an ideal platform for companies that seek to invest in Abu Dhabi,” added Al Ramahi.
ADCCI develops policies, connects businesses and provides support to safeguard companies and investors. It also aims to facilitate the commercial and industrial procedures to increase business activity in the emirate and contribute to Abu Dhabi's sustainable economic development.
The One-Stop-Shop at Masdar City provides customers with comprehensive services that include: licensing, registration and leasing information regarding Masdar City. The service center will also process transactions for different local government entities and offer services such as visas and customs clearance.
