Dina JSR reveals Crystal Waters At Fashion Forward season 2 SS 2014 Collection
Last Update: Monday, October 21, 2013 : 15:06 (+4GMT)
This season, Dina JSR opens the way for a more dressy collection that, on one hand, flirts with aquatic elements for more fluidity and on the other hand takes on the colors of dawn for real femininity.
Dina takes her inspiration from the organic looking One Water pavilion, designed by the architects Soma for the Yeosu universal exhibition in South Korea. On its side, ridges come to life like aquatic fins. Adapted to the body, these ridges become the openwork fabric of a sculptural volume neckline, wrap a ball-skirt or crosshatch a bare back with surprising subtleness. Sensual moments play around with skin texture, a conflict between materials and the cinematic effects of contrasting areas of light and dark. Once again, at the very heart of this Spring-Summer collection, contemporary architecture finds in Dina Jsr a flowing and crystal clear expression.
While preparing her wedding, Dina lets her imagination approach dawn and the colors of the Mediterranean: faded blue, tender mauve and diluted pink imitate the sea and double up with the vibrant silver shades of water. A bit further, a soft olive green and stellar white echo island tones. From Greece, Dina adopts draperies. Given a modern touch, they wrap the body with lithe and slender lines, reminiscent of the Belle Époque style.
To illuminate the whole, as a sun would the sea, Dina imagines crystal inserts and overlays of silver embroideries, peacock feathers fixed on muslin crepe radiate concentric circles that evoke ricochets, where as the accumulation of embroidered feathers on butterfly sleeves or a baby doll dress evoke the luxury of oriental soirees.
Two exquisite dresses of light blue and olive green satin-gazar wripple with elegance, underlining a recovered sobriety. Then, Dina calls for a play on transparency and tone on tone embroidered lace varying them in different colors and shades: a delicate jet black cocktail dress, an evanescent powder pink number like a flock of flowery lace. Finally, innocent blue and the sweet mauve of the perfect dawn evoke timeless happiness.
