In a step that reinforces its commitment to give back to the community by fighting Breast Cancer and continuing its crusade against it, Kaya Skin Clinic – the largest international skincare clinic chain across the Middle East – has announced a series of programs to educate the members of the public about the concern and provide exclusive benefits for their clients.
As part of this year's initiative – termed as Kaya Pink Impressions: Transforming Lives, Kaya Skin Clinic has tied up with the Pink Caravan, the pan-UAE breast cancer initiative, for the second consecutive year. Pink Caravan is a unique breast cancer awareness campaign, with an aim to highlight the importance of early cancer detection to save lives. The Kaya Pink Impressions is part of Kaya's CSR strategy and commitment to the community, and targets its women customers, constituting nearly 80% of its client profile.
Within the scope of this year's initiative, Kaya Skin Clinic, along with Pink Caravan, will organize a dedicated, free Medical Breast Examination offering for its clients at the Kaya Skin Clinic at Mirdif City Centre on October 24 between 12noon and 6pm. During the day, Pink Caravan's dedicated medical team would conduct clinical breast examinations at the centre for up to 60 clients.
Those clients who do not get the opportunity for breast examination at the Mirdif centre would be given vouchers for a free medical examination at Oriana Clinics. Also, the Kaya clients who are recommended to go for a mammogram will be handed over vouchers to visit the Oriana Clinics – where the mammogram would cost only AED 200 for Kaya and Pink Caravan referrals.
To optimize the awareness drive, educational sessions on breast cancer awareness will also be organised for Kaya clients in the waiting area throughout the day by experts from The Pink Caravan.
Talking about the initiative, Dr. Mona Saleh, Dermatologist at Kaya Skin Clinic, said: “Breast Cancer is a serious cause for concern across the globe – and more so in the region with very high incidence of the condition. Breast Cancer can happen to any woman and the top risk factors are being a woman and getting older. We have taken on the mantle to fight this scourge over the last few years and we are proud to tie-up with Pink Caravan this year as part of our educational and awareness outreach.”
As part of its campaign, Kaya also announced that 5 per cent of sales proceeds from Kaya Couture – the popular range of face therapies – throughout October will be donated to the Pink Caravan cancer campaign. Similarly, the company is also offering a 10% discount on the entire Kaya Couture range to encourage clients to buy and contribute to the cause.
Kaya has also come up with a customer-engagement exercise wherein their online users will be required to make their finger impressions [pink impressions] on their popular Facebook page through an application to support the cause.
“As a company, we believe in engaging our clients in all our initiatives. The pledge with the Pink Impressions is one way of involving our clients in building awareness about the Breast Cancer initiative. We call upon all the women in the UAE to join the Kaya Pink Awareness movement and empower themselves against Breast Cancer. Your weapon is your fingertips. Kaya believes in transforming lives, and through this initiative, we aim to reinforce our vision,” added Dr. Mona Saleh.
The initiative is being publicized across various media including Facebook Apps, and through online web banners, social media engagements, among others. Kaya Skin Clinic had donated a total of AED 39,300 to the Pink Caravan last year. This amount was raised from profits of Kaya Couture.
