Emphasizing Diversity in Communication

Dubai, UAE: September 17, 2013: International House Dubai (IH Dubai) will host a daylong celebration marking the European Day of Languages; an initiative of the Council of Europe aimed at creating awareness on the different kinds of languages, its importance, versatility and usability across the whole of Europe. The day comprises of free workshops, exams, classes, tests along with a charity book sale on September 26, 2013 at the Centre located near Safa Park on Sheikh Zayed road, Dubai.

The Council of Europe promotes plurilingualism, considering the prominence of linguistic diversity in today's multicultural society. Being multi-linguistic gives an individual the confidence and courage to explore and understand the rich heritage and culture of the country associated with the language. The ethnic spoken languages in Europe constitute to an estimate of about 225, out of which the most spoken are Russian, German, English, French and Italian.

Director IH Dubai, Clair Hattle commented, “We believe in sharing knowledge and we are celebrating the diversity in languages by educating more and more people on global languages and promoting unity in diversity.”

Guests can look forward to free demo English classes, free placement tests worth AED 100 for English learners and informative workshops on international exams like IELTS & Cambridge.

The proceeds from the charity book sale will be donated to support community services in the region. The books collected from the staff and students of IH Dubai will be available on sale from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on the day of the event. The institution extends an open invitation to all, to contribute and make a difference to the needy by donating books, old or new at the center's stall or even purchasing them.
