The importance of breakfast before going to school
Last Update: Saturday, August 24, 2013 : 12:57 (+4GMT)
Hello my dear,
As a mother, you know that every parent wants the very best for their child. That's why we're launching Coco Pops Back to School, our biggest ever campaign, with the aim to create good habits amongst the region's families by reminding parents not only of the importance of eating breakfast, but of providing children with suitable snack options throughout the school day.
We've all heard that breakfast is the most important meal, but why is it so essential to get a healthy start to the day – especially for children? A nutritious and balanced breakfast refuels your body and brain, kick-starts your metabolism and gives you the energy you need to face the day. One in five of us – women more so than men – overlook breakfast for ourselves or our children every day, with an estimated 28-70% of children in Arab countries going without breakfast on a daily basis. Skipping breakfast, or eating a breakfast of poor nutritional value, not only affects your child's mental capability and energy levels throughout the day, but has been suggested to decrease the possibility of consuming the daily recommended allowances of the micronutrients that are needed for healthy growth. In addition to our range of cereals that can be incorporated into a nutritious breakfast meal, Kellogg's has a number of snacks, such as our Coco Pops snack bars, that parents can give their children as a smart snacking option.
Our Coco Pops Back to School campaign will run from August 22-October 31 2013 across 14 malls in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as in both supermarkets and outdoor activations, on television and digital media, to potentially reach more than one million people. That's one million people who will be reminded that a proper start to the day is essential.
By joining us in spreading the message on the importance of breakfast to people of the Middle East, you'll help us to reach even more parents with the hope that every child starts their day in the healthiest way.
Here's to breakfasts and healthy snacks for all.
Yours sincerely,
Kellogg's team
