The school's owners are committed to providing students with the best learning experiences in a vibrant and modern campus. Consequently the new school will provide an engaging and challenging curriculum, using the latest educational technologies and successful teaching strategies to support and motivate the students. Every learning area will be well resourced with an Interactive Whiteboard and educational equipment to enable each student to improve their standards of achievements in all areas of the curriculum. The teachers will foster creative thinking and social skills, developing a positive attitude with the personal independence to ensure that every student has the opportunities to realise their potential and become successful global citizens.
Peter Winder, Executive Principal of the school, said: “We are delighted to be opening Diyafah International School in Abu Dhabi in September. The school will provide a high quality, affordable education, catering to the individual needs of the students. The planned expansion of the school will enable students to seamlessly progress from the primary to secondary phases of the British National Curriculum to eventually take their ‘A' levels. We will be providing a differentiated and progressive curriculum with planned learning programmes that provide every child with an extensive range of opportunities to be successful and enjoy their time at DIS.”
He added: “The decision to open another school in the capital will ensure that more children are able to benefit from the vision of our late founder, Mrs. Winnie D'Cunha to ‘Let your Light Shine'. This philosophy has enabled our students to prepare for the demands of the 21st Century, developing their Critical Thinking Skills, confidence and independence. Developing these skills through a challenging and engaging curriculum has resulted in many of our students achieving recognition as a result of their exceptional performances in International examinations. It is our shared commitment to ensure that our students in Abu Dhabi have the same opportunities to be successful.”
