Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi Marks Significant Participation at Liwa Date Festival

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 21 July, 2013 - The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi is marking its participation at the Liwa Date Festival with a dedicated stand that educates visitors on the importance of minimizing the production of waste, while highlighting the concepts of waste reduce, reuse and recycle.
Organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the UAE, the Liwa Date Festival was rolled out on 18 July and will run until 25 July at the city of Liwa in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi.
As part of its activities at the Liwa Date Festival, the center is conducting workshops to help participants adopt the process of waste separation from source. Additionally, the center is working towards raising awareness on its role, services, objectives and future projects in the region. Reiterating its responsibility towards the community, the Center is leveraging its participation at the event to cite the UAE's rich cultural and social tradition and underscore the sustenance of deep-rooted values and preserve the environment for future generations.
Khaled Al Bloushi, Acting Public Awareness Section Head at the Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi, said: “The center is keen to mark a prominent participation in each of the events hosted across the Western Region. Through our activities, we seek to underline the community's overarching role in supporting environmentally sustainable practices for achieving the shared objective of public hygiene and safety in accordance with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.”
The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi focuses on the promotion of best practices in waste management, includes: reduce, reuse and recycle of waste and waste separation at source. The center continuously runs educational and awareness initiatives for Abu Dhabi citizens and community in line with the objectives of Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
