Panasonic and Beamcast join forces to accelerate broadcast innovation in Qatar

Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa (PMMAF), with its local partner in Qatar, Beamcast, today revealed the successful conclusion of its premier Broadcast and Pro AV event titled ‘Innovation in Action’. Held recently in Doha, the event also saw Panasonic unveil a new cutting-edge production solution – the AK-UCX100GSJ 4K studio camera. This joint initiative marks a significant milestone for the two organizations being at the forefront of trends shaping the future of broadcasting, this in light of the country’s burgeoning media and entertainment industry.
Qatar has risen to prominence in the region in the media and entertainment segments, owing primarily to strong state support and the evolution driven by advancements in technology and evolving consumer preferences. Business reports point to a promising outlook for the TV, Radio and Multimedia segment with an expected revenue of US$148.3m for 2025.
Attended by professionals and enthusiasts from across the broadcasting, media, and infotainment spectrum in the country, ‘Innovation in Action’ focused on how boundless agility and flexibility can be leveraged to elevate the art of storytelling in the broadcast and AV spaces. The event featured a mix of real-world presentations from industry experts, including a session on the benefits of IT/IP-based live production platforms using Panasonic products. Meanwhile, the atmosphere was vibrant with demonstrations and extensive hands-on sessions in an increasingly software-based production and delivery environment.

Delivering exceptional clarity with 2,000 TV lines resolution and vibrant colors through HDR technology, this camera ensures detailed and realistic images. Operating independently of a Camera Control Unit (CCU), the AK-UCX100GSJ embraces IP innovation with support for SMPTE ST 2110, NDI® High Bandwidth, SRT, and dual 12G-SDI outputs. SMPTE ST 2110 enhances network reliability and JPEG XS compatibility allows for low-latency, visually lossless video transmission and stable IP operation.
In addition to the AK-UCX100GSJ, other products showcased and demonstrated were UC4000, KAIROS, Multiple PTZ cameras, PLV100, CX4000.
