Empower's Global Leadership in District Cooling is Widely Hailed Internationally

Dubai, UAE - 9 February 2023: The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) commended Empower's global leadership and remarkable contributions to achieving significant advances in the environmentally-friendly district cooling industry, in line with its strategic economic, social, environmental and climate goals.

The commendation came during a meeting between Farouk Mahboob, President of ASHRAE and Jeff Littleton, Executive Vice President of ASHRAE, and Empower's delegation participating in the events of the ASHRAE Conference and Expo 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

During the meeting, the ASHRAE team discussed various topics and ideas with Empower, such as; how to devise completely new methodologies of cooling that can provide more energy efficiency, improvised thermal energy storage and transfer systems, and feasibility checks in cooperation with the best universities and research centers in the world, for meeting the cooling demand through the direct usage energies without converting it into electricity, on the one hand, and the process for updating and developing the District Cooling Guide, on the other hand, to remain this as an international professional reference for district cooling providers all over the world. The District Cooling Guide has been launched by Empower in collaboration with ASHRAE over the past years and achieved great success in countries all over the world. The Guide provides a roadmap for designing energy-saving and environmentally friendly high-efficient buildings and has contributed to the development of building designs that are effectively compatible with district cooling systems.
