Dubai, UAE, 20 December: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has organised the ‘Second-Hand Book Fair’, hosted by Al Safa Art and Design Library from 19 to 27 December, to spread cultural awareness among the public and promote reading as a lifestyle.
The ‘Second-Hand Book Fair’ initiative is a Dubai Public Libraries cultural programme aimed at contributing to the dissemination of knowledge, encouraging interest in books, recycling their use, and making them accessible to all. The items are sold at symbolic prices ranging between AED 3, 5 and 10, and are suitable for all age groups.
The exhibition, which is held in conjunction with the activities of the winter camp at Dubai Public Libraries, fits the framework of Dubai Culture's commitments to instil a culture of reading in the hearts of future generations. The fair, which opens its doors daily from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., is one of the projects that highlight Dubai Culture’s compliance with the National Literacy Strategy 2016-2026, which aims to promote cultural values in society and support all aspects of culture, including arts and literature.
