Sharjah, December 07, 2022: Relay for Life is a 24-hour multidisciplinary relay and the world’s largest peer-to-peer cancer fundraising event. Preparations are well on the way and people from the UAE and around the globe are getting ready to participate in this experience in aid of fighting against cancer and raising awareness at Kshisha Park in Al Rahmaniyah on the 10th December 2022.
This event will return to Sharjah for its third edition in the MENA region, and will be divided into various laps, so the public is encouraged to register at the link below and bring their energy and enthusiasm and find the lap that they can have fun with to support this cancer fundraiser https://relayforlife.evsreg.com.
Lap categories:
The ‘Warriors Lap’ will feature cancer patients, survivors, supporters and caregivers as well as their families and will start the relay. Attendees are encouraged to come early to the event so they can show support to these strong champions of cancer.
The ‘Fight back Lap’ is the public’s chance to show strength in honour of patients, survivors and caregivers to make it clear that we are all stronger than cancer and how we will never give up.
The ‘Luminaria Lap’ will be a lap of remembrance, a period of quiet reflection, a temporary pause in the UAE Relay for Life on Friday evening, with the hosting of the event’s ‘Luminaria’ ceremony. A major activity in the 24-hour cancer awareness walkathon, the special observance commemorates loved ones lost to cancer as well as honouring those who have survived the disease.
The ‘Glow Lap’ will be an expression of light and life as attendees make a lap around the course with glow sticks.
Dress up as your favourite champion or saviour in the ‘Super Hero Lap’ and help save the world from cancer!
The ‘Pyjama Lap’ will see attendees make their lap in their sleep-wear bringing another element of fun to the walkathon.
The ‘Noise Maker Countdown Lap’ will be an expression of sound as people beat their drums, blow their whistles.
The ‘Tutu/Crazy Hat Lap’ will welcome the public to show their wild side and have some fun as they dress up in weird and wacky styles.
The ‘Carnival Lap’ will be the final lap of the walkathon and will be a celebration of life as the public rejoice for all the champions of cancer.
