Dubai Festival City Mall Celebrates 124th Philippine Independence Day

Experience a Food Festival offering traditional dishes, discover leading Filipino fashion brands and enjoy amazing performances
Dubai Festival City Mall, part of Al-Futtaim Malls, celebrates the 124th Philippine Independence Day with the Filipino community, hosting an array of activities to commemorate the occasion. Taking place from 8th – 11th June, the celebration will take visitors on a journey to discover and learn more about Philippines with activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Kick starting celebrations on Wednesday, 8th June, the opening ceremony commencing at 8pm will feature the band, The Philippine School Drum and Lyre, presenting an interpretative segment which originated in the Philippines, held in attendance of Philippines Business Council Dubai. The event will showcase cultural performances such as the MassKara Festival by Lunhaw Cultural Dance, offering a glimpse into nation’s colourful and lively celebrations. Guests are also invited to witness a beautiful show by the ever popular IMAGINE, specially curated for the occasion.
The four days of Light, Sound and Taste will then continue till Saturday, 11th June with a Filipino Food Festival bringing the best eats of the country to all from popular restaurants such as Hen Lin, Bobbie C and Agemono Express. With more than 7,000 islands and a colourful history, the archipelago has some delicious dishes of its own. Inspired by the Philippines’ wide variety of seafood dishes and tropical fruits, there will be plenty of dishes to try as part of Dubai Festival City Mall’s celebration.
Furthermore, the mall will have fashion creations by Filipino designers including Ryan Pacioles, Harvey Cenit and Beni Dela Rosa on display, making waves both in the Filipino fashion industry and around the world. Whether it is offering modern renditions of classics or tapping into long-time artisanal techniques, Filipino designers have been putting their culture at the forefront of their work – showing the world the beauty that is to be found within their very own country. Dubai Festival City Mall visitors can also enjoy hip-hop performances by dance crews including, Pinoy DXB Crew and Elite Force Dancers.
