Dubai, UAE - February 21, 2022: Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS), a regional leader in banking and finance education and training, today announced that it will amp its efforts to upskill Emirati talent working in the banking and financial sector. This decision is in line with the announcements made by the UAE government to increase Emirati representation in the workforce.
To mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and prepare UAE nationals for the future has enhanced training and support programs. This year, as part of EIBFS’s Annual Training plan, UAE Nationals can access 13 new certificate programs. These include the EIBFS International Certificate in Fintech, Risk Management, Compliance, Data Analytics, Fraud Management, Treasury Management, Trade Finance, Islamic Retail Banking, Internal Audit, Wealth Management, Corporate Relationship Management, Credit and Business Communication. The programs are available in four batches through classroom and online classes.
In addition, EIBFS will also be hosting a number of workshops and webinars on diverse topics to offer a well-rounded experience to its trainees. During the second half of the year, EIBFS will begin registrations for its signature Learning Development Program in collaboration with Said Oxford University. This targeted approach that has been built in collaboration with leading global institutions aims to provide in-depth knowledge on traditional banking subjects as well as trending topics such as digital and technology awareness, data literacy and change and innovation.
Commenting on EIBFS’s Emiratization efforts, Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of EIBFS said: “Since our inception, we have made great strides in educating and training Emirati talent. The financial sector is one of the most dynamic sectors in the UAE and to keep up with its evolving nature, we have always strived to stay ahead of the curve by introducing new training material and courses for our patrons. We continue on this endeavour and seek to enable the new generation of Emirati talent through our renewed Emiratization efforts.”
In 2021, a total of 7,241 UAE Nationals underwent the banking annual training programs, whereas 675 UAE nationals took part in the insurance annual training programs and 980 UAE nationals took part in the private courses and learning pathways. During the year, 11,676 UAE Nationals enrolled with EIBFS and successfully completed their training—marking 36 per cent of the total participation.
