Belgian F&B Retail Reps. Visit Union Coop

A group of Belgian F&B retail representatives belonging to ‘Buurtsuper’ visit Union Coop to study modern retail practices

Buurtsuper is a Belgian organization of supermarkets and specialty F&B stores and is part of UNIZO (Union of Self-Employed Entrepreneurs)

Dubai, UAE - November 28, 2021:  Union Coop – the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE received a group of Belgian F&B retail representatives belonging to ‘Buurtsuper’ who were interested in sharing Union Coop’s expertise and experience in the field of retail.
The visit dealt with discussions, knowledge sharing and discussions about the best practices implemented in the field of food retail, delivery and customer happiness services, expansion strategies, and more information on Union Coop’s retail culture. The delegations included CEOs/Owners of supermarkets in Belgium such as - Ardies, Borloo, Schrooten, Wendy and many more, who took a guided tour of Union Coop hypermarket at Al Warqa City mall to learn about subjects such as Union Coop’s sustainable business model, customer happiness service, online and offline loyalty, innovation and expansion strategies, digital solutions for retail and much more. 

Union Coop was represented by Mrs. Priya Chopra – Strategy, Innovation & Corporate Development Director, Mrs. Darin Awida the Deputy Director of Strategy, Innovation & Corporate Development Dept., Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Fresh Category Trade Dept. Manager, Mrs. Sana Gul - Trade Development Sec. Mgr, and Mr. MOHAMMAD ABBAS, Sr. Showroom Supervisor - Al Warqa Branch.

Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Mrs. Sana Gul, and Mr. Mohammad Abbas gave a guided tour of the hypermarket, explaining to them the Union Coop working standards and methodology. The visit was concluded with a detailed Question and Answer session led by Mrs. Sana Gul, who encouraged the group to explore business options with Union Coop in near future as well. 

The delegation praised the services provided by Union Coop to the consumers, and the practices followed in the field of retail trade with international standards, and thanked the cooperative management for the warm reception and giving them an opportunity to see the best services provided, work and delivery mechanisms, modern technologies used in trade, promotions, and products displayed in the showroom according to an organized vision that attracts shoppers.
