Al-Futtaim Malls Welcomes Back Its Young Shoppers Across Dubai

Dubai Festival City Mall and Festival Plaza now open to children below 12
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 21st June 2020: In accordance with the announcement by the Supreme Committee of Disaster Management around easing restrictions on a number of activities for children under 12, Al-Futtaim Malls welcomed back its younger visitors this weekend with special kid-sized masks to ensure they are kept safe when shopping in both Dubai Festival City Mall and Festival Plaza.
As part of its Festival Cares initiative, throughout the two malls, Al-Futtaim will provide over 50,000 masks which will be given to children throughout the week. Visitors must continue to adhere to health and safety rules while in the malls, including the requirement that they wear masks at all times, sanitize their hands prior to entering the mall, only spend the time they require at the mall and ensure a physical distance of two meters from others at all times.
Timothy Earnest, Group Director, Al-Futtaim Malls commented: ‘As we get into the swing of the UAE summer, we know that parents are keen to visit our malls as a way of escaping the heat, shopping and entertaining the kids. We have certainly missed the little ones and are conscious to ensure we welcomed them back with the peace of mind that they would also be safe while enjoying everything our properties have to offer. We have other surprises in store for our younger guests throughout the summer, so we look forward to seeing them there in the coming months.’
In addition, the much-loved community garden at Festival Plaza is welcoming back its favourite and littlest members to help it grow. Families will be able to take home a piece of the garden as a welcome back token and continue to love and nurture the indoor plants at their homes. Festival Plaza launched the community garden back in December 2019 to engage and educate kids on growing our planet and helping the environment. Each weekend kids aged three and above can come and learn to plant their own plant and get tips on nurturing indoor plants. Kids will get a certificate of participation and label their plants so that they can find their pot when they came back each weekend to water their plants and watch them grow at Festival Plaza’s indoor Green House.
