Al Wahda Mall is Now Open for Its Customers in Compliance With the Health and Safety Measures

• Al Wahda Mall reopens in accordance with guidelines and protocols issued by Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Department of Economic Development (DED) – Abu Dhabi.
• Occupancy will be limited to 30% from original capacity and parking will be limited to 50%
• All those above 60-year-old and kids below 12 will not be permitted to enter as part of the precautionary measures
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 13 May, 2020: Al Wahda Mall, an iconic landmark and central Abu Dhabi’s leading shopping and lifestyle destination has successfully completed all the requirements and protocol set by the Department of Economic Development (DED), Abu Dhabi and is now open for the customers. In strict compliance with the health and safety measures outlined by the Department of Health and Department of Economic Development (DED), the mall will work together with its shoppers, partners and co-workers to maintain the highest possible standard of a safe and healthy shopping environment.
Al Wahda Mall, in accordance with the directives from the health authorities has incorporated a number of strict measures to protect staff and shoppers. Occupancy will be limited to 30% from original capacity and parking will be limited to 50%. Shoppers with gloves and mask will be allowed to enter the mall and those above 60-year-old and kids below 12 years of age will not be permitted inside the mall. All common areas and prayer rooms will be closed, and usage of lifts will be limited to people of determination only.
The mall will carry out the sanitation and disinfection procedures regularly to support the nation’s initiative in combatting the virus. After mall closing hours, a dedicated team will activate a rigorous deep cleaning drive to ensure disinfection, sterilization and purification of all public areas, and touchpoints to safeguard the health and safety of all mall visitors.
The mall will be operational from 12 PM to 9PM, however for essentials and groceries the hypermarket will be open from 8 AM to 10 PM, pharmacy and money exchange will be open from 9AM to 10PM. F&B Outlets will be operational from 12 PM to 9PM and partly available in the day for take-away only (12 PM – Iftar) at 30% occupancy with strict number of only 2 people per table for dine-in. Post Eid, the F&B Outlets will be operational from 12 Noon until 9 PM. Recreational and entertainment facilities will be closed at the mall until further notice.
Commenting on the re- opening of the mall, Mr. Navaneeth Sudhakaran, General Manager, Al Wahda Mall said, “Al Wahda Mall has fulfilled all formalities in accordance with guidelines and protocols issued by Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Department of Economic Development (DED) – Abu Dhabi and is now open to shoppers. We are working closely with the authorities to maintain the highest possible standard of safe shopping environment within the mall. We want to ensure the health and safety of all our shoppers, partners and co-workers and will amend new measures as per the guidelines received.”
All employees at the mall have undergone COVID-19 test and are allowed entry only on reporting negative results. Compulsory thermal temperature checks will be conducted at each entry point for staffs and visitors. The mall encourages visitors to use the smart payment methods available and bring their own shopping bags.
