Ras Al Khaimah, April 12, 2020: Ras Al Khaimah Academy (RAKA) has announced it will be offering parents of RAKA students a 20% discount on third-term fees to support them while their children study from home, as part of the precautionary measures taken to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Additionally, RAKA revealed it will be refunding all non-academic third-term fees, such as transportation and canteen charges. Parents can choose to defer the discount and the refund of the non-academic fees to Term 1 2020. In line with Ministry of Education directives, the Academy had implemented a Distance Learning system to ensure the health and safety of its student body and faculty, all without compromising on quality education.
“Ras Al Khaimah Academy considers its students and their parents to be its utmost priority. Their wellbeing is every bit as important to us as their education. With that in mind, we implemented an advanced Distance Learning system to ensure the health and safety of our student body and faculty, all while maintaining top-quality education. Our objective is to maintain some sense of stability for our students.” Said Steven Geraghty, the Executive Principle of RAK Academy.
“We are pleased to be announcing the 20% discount on third-term fees today,” Geraghty added. “We understand and appreciate that some families are facing financial issues stemming from the necessary restrictions that were implemented to ensure public health and safety. We are here for our students and their parents, and we are confident our collective RAKA family will emerge stronger once the current crisis subsides.”
As in-person visits to the Academy continue to be suspended, parents can pay the tuition fee, without any additional charges, using RAKBANK’s SKIPLY app, or via bank transfer.
Schools and universities across the UAE were closed as of early March 2020 as a preventive measure to limit possible transmission of Coronavirus, where regular lessons continue to be conducted via remote learning rather than in a physical classroom. The Ministry of Education has since been running a sterilization program for educational facilities and school buses.
