UOBD's 2nd academic year welcomes new students and adds majors

Modern and holistic education offered based on proven academic excellence spread over three decades
Dubai, UAE, Sep 15, 2019: Spread across 8,000 square metres in Dubai Investments House and touted as the first university in Dubai Investment Park (DIP), University of Balamand Dubai (UOBD) welcomed new students with a tailored orientation, early September 2019. As part of UOBD’s 2nd academic year orientation, a campus tour and insights into new majors offered at the university for the academic session 2019-20, for the new cohort of students was organized.
Riding on University of Balamand (UOB), Lebanon’s, proven academic excellence spread over the past three decades, UOBD aims to provide a modern and holistic educational environment, attracting top students within UAE and abroad.
Introducing an enhanced module this year, UOBD introduced Entrepreneurship, Healthcare Management, Risk Management & Insurance specialties for the 2019-20 batch, planned for the spring 2020 intake, with the addition of Architecture Studies and Graphic and Interior Design for the forthcoming academic year.
Commenting on the commencement of a new academic year, Dr Walid Moubayed, CEO and Vice-Chancellor of University of Balamand Dubai (UOBD), said,” At UOBD we ensure overall development of the students by providing them with course modules that are at par with the industry needs and are in line with creating a platform for them to pursue and excel in their respective fields. We are positive that we are preparing UOBD graduates who will assume leadership positions in the corporate and governmental sectors both nationally and internationally.”
Licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education, UOBD currently offers undergraduate Bachelor of Science (B.S.) programs in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. All programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), a government-run institutional licensure and degree accreditation department of MOE and the KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority).Other courses on offer at UOBD, comprise of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature, intended for spring 2020 commencement and Professional Teaching Diploma (TD) program. All degrees are based on the American model of higher education.
One of the reasons UOBD has gained traction within a year of opening are the opportunities it offers to students to gain research and teaching experience through graduate programs. In addition to hands-on experience, the modules at UOBD provide students with an opportunity to get deeper insights into the realm of their specialization, enhancing expertise and improving competitiveness.
