February 06, 2019 - Dubai, UAE:
At the 16th Annual NTC All Pakistan Interregional Badminton Tournament, organized by NTC, Huawei and Apollo, Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications Mr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi took the opportunity to discuss Pakistan’s future plans in the ICT sector and thank Huawei for its contribution to developing the region’s telecommunications sector. He commented: “More innovative services in mobile broadband need to be introduced to meet modern day consumer demands, more foreign investment should be attracted to raise employment opportunities for the locals. I think companies like Huawei can help us in this regard by introducing its manufacturing into Pakistan.”
He continued: “Huawei is a world leader in information technology and telecommunications. Huawei has already played an important role in Pakistan’s telecommunication sector. It is also world leader in 5G technology. As Pakistan plans to introduce 5G telecom service this year, we will be taking Huawei’s opinions and support to take benefit from its modern technology and expertise in the sectors of ICT as they have been in Pakistan for 20 years and have built a promising relationship with the country.”
