Popular Swedish retailer looks for candidates who embody the brand’s values with unveiling of light-hearted video to encourage applications
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 4 February 2019 – The process of job hunting can be a challenge, for both employers and applicants. IKEA, the region’s favourite Swedish home furnishing retailer, has taken a unique approach to the job interview process, to inspire and encourage true IKEA fans to pursue a career at the company.
A new campaign launched by IKEA showcases potential candidates, who each find themselves in a humorous situation when they are asked to assemble an IKEA chair as part of their interview process. The series of experiences, compiled into a short video, recognize that job interviews need to be the right mix of credentials, character and attitude. A candidate who is willing to jump in with enthusiasm to get the job done is instantly a suitable fit for the company culture.
“At IKEA, we are known for holding a strong set of brand values that don’t just apply to the workplace, but also to the everyday. We see and do things differently at IKEA, and it is important to us that we find a fitting match to our family by putting our values to the test in a fun and creative way,” said Vinod Jayan, Managing Director, IKEA UAE, Oman and Egypt. “This video embodies the essence of IKEA and we hope it sparks curiosity and interest for potential candidates, while also giving them a flavor of who we are as a brand.”
Employees are at the heart of the business at IKEA, and the company invests in ensuring an inviting and open office culture, while also offering opportunities for growth and development and competitive workplace benefits.
