HBMSU & Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences discuss areas of cooperation using smart technology for education

UAE, April 26, 2018- Dr. Mansoor Al-Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), received a high-level delegation from Mohammed bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences, headed by Dr. Amer Ahmad Sharif, Vice Chancellor of the University and Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Healthcare City Authority - Education Sector at Dubai Healthcare City. The delegation discussed partnership possibilities for harnessing technology for capacity building and investment in qualified human resources.
The meeting highlighted HBMSU’s academic and professional programs, as well as its innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, in line with the government's directives to integrate artificial intelligence technologies within the educational system.
Dr. Mansoor Al-Awar welcomed the move and reiterated the HBMSU’s commitment to implement the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to revamp traditional education systems so they can keep pace with the fast-paced growth of the twenty-first century.
Al Awar highlighted the importance of forging strong partnerships to enrich knowledge and exchange experiences and best practices with leading academic institutions and educational leaders, to upgrade the educational system based on smart technology and modern innovations, in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to use artificial intelligence to improve government performance, faster delivery of outcomes and introduce innovations in the workplace for greater productivity.
He added: “We look forward to opening new channels of cooperation and coordination with Mohammed bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences, and to benefit from its interactive and intelligent learning technologies, academic programs and professional training programs in the field of medicine and health sciences, for nation building. We are keen to promote a culture of smart education that paves the way for a generation that is full of confidence, knowledge and determination to achieve the objectives of the UAE Vision 2021 to be among the world's most advanced and happiest countries in the world.”
Dr. Amer Ahmed Sherif said: “We are very pleased to visit this distinguished academic organization and learn about the latest e-learning methods and professional programs in line with the vision of the UAE wise leadership and strategies. We have seen during our visit to HBMSU the compatibility between both universities in terms of objectives and educational methods, and the commitment to develop new strategies to provide the best for students and the UAE, as well as the region. The visit included a detailed presentation about the role of advanced technology and smart initiatives, such as Smart Campus, in stimulating innovation and creativity in the knowledge industry and shaping the future of smart education in the UAE and the Arab World. Mohammed bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences commended the key role played by HBMSU in re-engineering education by being frontrunners in adopting the latest technological developments and adopting them to the service of the educational system.
