Collection Draws on Path to Self-Discovery through Language of Lines
Dubai, UAE, February 11, 2018: This Spring-Summer ’18 sees Global Sports Brand PUMA collaborate with internationally- acclaimed British-born and New York-based visual artist, Shantell Martin. Known for her stream-of-consciousness drawings and light projections, Martin combines the whimsical and autobiographical, bridging the gap between fine art, performance art, and everyday life. The debut of the all-new PUMA x SHANTELL MARTIN collection features PUMA classic styles adorned with Martin’s signature illustrations and lettering. Premium materials, crisp monochromatic looks, and intricate details – both light hearted and truth-seeking – stand out in this collection for the unique, the bold, and the playful.
Drawing design inspiration from Shantell’s unique creative DNA and her passion for self-discovery, the collection combines PUMA’s innovative designs rooted in sports to create a bold, expression production offering. The collection’s hero footwear silhouettes include iconic court classics, the PUMA Suede and Clyde, as well as the court inspired women’s offering, the Platform Strap. The classic styles boast matching apparel offerings including the two-layer jacket and jumpsuit.
Commenting on the new collection, Shantell Martin said: “I had a lot of fun collaborating with PUMA on our new collection for Spring Summer ‘18. It was cool being able to apply my artistic DNA to iconic PUMA silhouettes, but what I particularly loved about the project was hiding little messages throughout the product offering to make something truly unique.”
The PUMA x SHANTELL MARTIN collection’s first drop releases on February 10th followed by the second drop on April 21. Available through PUMA stores and premium sneaker retailers in the GCC.
