Caparol becomes first German company to receive the approval for complete compliance with the new UAE Fire Code
Dubai, December 23, 2017: Caparol Paints, a global leader in the paints industry, has received the approval from Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) to start implementing the Exterior Thermal Insulation and Finish system (EIFS) / External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS). The technology called Capatect ETICS system has received certification as a result of Caparol’s compliance with the new UAE Fire Code.
Caparol offers intelligent insulation solutions with EIFS /ETICS. Caparol has been at the forefront of adopting new technologies which complement the local market conditions. EIFS/ETICS are a highly efficient system that ensure an improvement in energy efficiency of both old and new buildings once the technology is installed.
Caparols' premium external wall insulation system comes with a technology that ensures safety, durability and longevity with the added benefit of fire resistance provided by the mineral wool insulation core. Tested and certified to NFPA 285, NFPA 268 and ASTM E84 Class A standards, the Capatect System meets all Dubai Civil Defense new fire code requirements.
Speaking about the Capatect ETICS system, Mr. Martin Rosocha, Managing Director Middle East at Caparol Paints UAE, said, “With energy efficiency and sustainability being at the forefront of the UAE’s vision, coupled with a market ready to overcome environmental challenges for a modern and progressive nation, we see tremendous value and potential in our Capatect ETICS system solution. Sustainability and innovation is at Caparol’s core; by providing a thermal insulation system that saves energy, we are setting Caparol apart from others in the industry. We also hope to continue contributing to the GCC’s ambitious plan to set new sustainability standards.”
Mr. Mowaffaq Balish, Commercial Director Middle East at Caparol Paints : The inspiration behind designing the technology was from the need to save energy and improve the climate inside the buildings. Capatect ETICS system substantially reduces cooling costs by maintaining the temperature. With the temperatures soaring in the UAE, we have seen an advanced and growing need to involve sustainable building and coating methods while maintaining the visual appeal of a structure.
“As quality leader, Caparol has a responsibility towards sustainability. Caparol performs its duty to find a balance between economy, environmental compatibility and quality of life. This includes the protection of the environment, the efficient use of resources and the creation of a comfortable living environment for the people,” Mr. Balish elaborated.
In the Capatect ETICS system range, Caparol offers a wide variety of premium renders/plasters, stone finish coatings and other texture coatings that ensure that the facade stays beautiful, clean and color-fast over a long period of time.
Having initially launched the system in Europe over 60 years ago, Caparol is now present in the Middle-east for almost 20 years and is equipped to assist clients, consultants, architects, and applicators in designing, specifying, and installing the Capatect ETICS system.
