Renowned Saudi designer unveils a Quran Stand as the first product from this new collection.
Dubai, May 2017: AYA The Art of Living, a distinctive Saudi product and furniture designer, launches the innovative Quran Stand this Ramadan. This new product represents the first from a new line, ‘The Alef Collection’. The Alef Collection is a yearly Ramadan Capsule Collection with a range of products that celebrates and re-contextualizes heritage whilst adding a festive spirit, educational innovations, and a reconnection to Islamic icons for children and adults during the holy month. This line has been created with the sister of Ayah Al Bitar; Haya Al Bitar, and will be available by private order from the Dubai based design studios.
Conceptualized by Haya and created by Ayah Al Bitar, the vision for this line is to showcase the heritage and traditions of Ramadan in a contemporary and educational manner. In the Islam faith, the gesture of giving and sharing is incredibly powerful and resonates for years to come from individual to individual (the concept of Hasanat); another concept that pinpoints the reason for The Alef Collection. Allowing people to connect with their identity whilst bringing art and functionality to everyday routines during the holy month.
Every year Ramadan plays a key role in strengthening the relationship between each other through the Quran, hence the newly launched Quran Stand is the most meaningful gift that can be given to loved ones during the holy month. The innovative stand represents the idea of connecting communities whilst adding a modern touch in decorating individual’s homes. The Quran stand is the first of many products to come under The Alef Collection, all of which will be aimed at educating and reinforcing the traditional symbols and icons from the Islam culture on a yearly basis.
The stand itself has been immaculately designed from wood and plaited fabric cord, all inspired by the new branding and font related to AYA The Art of Living. Designed in line with Ayah Al Bitar’s core philosophy of functionality, this product has been produced to provide comfort when holding by hand and more convenience when placed on a flat surface. Ensuring full practicality for this new product, there is a hidden shelf that can be used to place glasses or phones in order to fully facilitate any pre-prayer processes. To add to Ayah’s genius design, the Quran Stand has been designed in line with The Sanctuary in order for the stand to be smartly placed over it.
Ayah Al Bitar, Founder of Aya The Art of Living comments: “I am delighted to be working with my sister on her incredible concept of bringing together interactions and fun behavior for a very topical moment in our lives. The philosophy behind The Alef Collection enhancing Arabian identity, is perfectly aligned with my core beliefs as a brand, it was a perfect collaboration. I truly believe in developing more unique and inspirational products that not only represent our traditions in a modern way but also create a solution to facilitate the life of Muslims and beyond in their daily routines. This is a very exciting project with many more products to come”
The Quran Stand will be the first of many designs from The Alef Collection, all aimed at giving the spirit that all Muslims enjoy during Ramadan and ensuring this celebratory time is much more spiritual and educational for younger generations. Once again, AYA The Art of Living will be pushing boundaries to connect the traditions and beliefs of the past with a more forward thinking present and future.
