NMC launches its most advanced Centre of Oncology

February 12th, 2017:  NMC launched its full-fledged oncology care centre, NMC Vinoda on February 11th, 2017. NMC Vinoda is a first-of-its-kind oncology centre, which covers the full spectrum of diagnosis and both the medical and surgical management of cancer.

NMC Vinoda has European board-certified oncology consultants, who are supported by a strong multi-disciplinary team of specialists from pertinent departments. Additionally, each patient’s course of treatment is arrived at after a thorough review by a tumor board, which is unique among cancer centres in the region. This ensures all patients’ courses of treatment are arrived at after a thorough review by specialists from multiple fields.

Commenting on the launch of NMC Vinoda, Dr. B. R. Shetty, Founder & CEO, NMC said: “NMC Vinoda is an advanced Centre of Oncology named after my beloved sister. I had witnessed her go through the physical and emotional pain first hand when she was diagnosed with cancer. Through this personal experience, I have realised the importance of early diagnosis as well as palliative treatment for cancer.

The services of NMC Vinoda are available at NMC Speciality Hospital, Abu Dhabi and NMC Royal Hospital at Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi. NMC Royal Hospital has also begun work on a radiotherapy unit. Once completed the radiotherapy unit will be the most advanced unit in the industry.
