UAE, December 21, 2016 - Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) hosted today December 21, 2016 another productive session of its ‘Innovation Lab for the Future of Smart Learning’ monthly meeting. Led by Dr. Ahmed Al Nakeeb, Quality & Operation Management Department Chair of HBMSU’s School of Business and Quality Management, this month’s session discussed the benefits and advantages of being a learner-centric university as exemplified by HBMSU and why such an approach is important in order to remain pertinent in the 21st century. HBMSU’s ‘Innovation Lab for the Future of Smart Learning’ was launched this year to explore the future of the UAE’s smart education. HBMSU Chancellor Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, faculty members, and other school executives take part in the monthly gatherings.
Dr. Al Awar said: “The Innovation Lab was launched to help us in the education sector to identify the challenges and opportunities in smart education, and accordingly develop practical and measurable solutions to pressing issues. For this month, the participants took a closer look at the significance of putting all learners at the heart of everything we do and how this move can enhance their competencies in preparation for their future. The meeting included the introduction of a range of creative ideas that have been approved to be implemented starting from next semester in the university. The Innovation Lab is one of our key contributions to the goals of ‘UAE Strategy for the Future,’ a comprehensive roadmap that will take our state to the next era of development, and we vow to remain committed to its objectives in our upcoming meetings.”
