Delivered through AVEVA CONNECT, EcoStruxure™ Water Advisor - Leak Insight is the first module to launch, helping utilities to curb water loss
· Pilot projects of EcoStruxure™ Water Advisor are underway globally
Dubai (UAE), July 21, 2026 – Schneider Electric has launched EcoStruxure™ Water Advisor, a cloud-based intelligence platform that enables utilities to see what is happening in their infrastructure in real time. It brings together data from multiple systems and shows it in one place, so teams can quickly identify issues and decide how to respond. By providing a clear, live view of the entire water network, the system helps utilities reduce water loss, lower operating costs, and maintain a reliable supply for customers.
Delivered through the secure, cloud-based industrial intelligence platform, AVEVA CONNECT, EcoStruxure™ Water Advisor brings together data from SCADA systems, sensors, billing platforms, hydraulic models, and energy infrastructure into a single environment. By applying AI-driven analytics, predictive insights and digital twin technology, it enables utilities to shift from reactive operations to continuous, proactive management of their water plants and networks.
This enables them to:
- Reduce non-revenue water (water that is lost or unaccounted for before it reaches customers) and operational costs
- Improve service reliability and network visibility
- Support regulatory compliance and sustainability goals
- Extend asset life through predictive monitoring
Designed to work with existing IT, operational and energy systems, the platform helps utilities to break down operational silos and give a unified picture of how their networks are performing. This data-driven approach helps them anticipate disruption, respond to change, and protect long-term water supply.
Perhaps in no region is the EcoStruxure™ Water Advisor platform more likely to revolutionize utilities and infrastructure than in the water-stressed Gulf region, where water efficiency has become a strategic priority. The UAE's Water Security Strategy 2036 aims to reduce total demand for water resources by 21% and increase treated water reuse to 95%, while Saudi Arabia now produces more than 11.1 million cubic meters of desalinated water daily - the highest output in the world. As governments invest in long-term water resilience, reducing non-revenue water through greater network visibility and intelligent operations is becoming increasingly critical.
Turning water loss into actionable insight
The first module within the platform, EcoStruxure™ Water Advisor – Leak Insight, focuses on one of the water sector’s most persistent operational challenges: non-revenue water.
Utilities worldwide are under growing pressure from water scarcity, ageing infrastructure, rising energy costs, and tightening regulation - while continuing to lose significant volumes of treated water through leaks and operational inefficiencies.
In a typical mid-sized city, for example, leaks can often go undetected for several days or even weeks due to siloed systems, manual reporting, and limited network visibility. During that time, thousands of cubic metres of treated water, and the energy used to produce it, may be lost. The result is not only higher pumping costs, but reduced network pressure, and growing customer complaints.
EcoStruxure™ Water Advisor – Leak Insight, directly addresses this challenge. In many utilities, leak management still relies on siloed systems, manual data handling and periodic reporting, which can delay detection and repair. Leak Insight enables continuous daily monitoring, giving operators faster visibility into network performance and emerging issues. Through advanced analytics, daily water balances, and interactive map-based views, the SaaS solution gives the clarity to:
- Detect leaks and pressure anomalies faster
- Prioritise high-loss zones and interventions
- Reduce maintenance and pumping costs
- Improve workforce coordination and repair response
With rapid deployment and minimal IT overhead, Leak Insight is designed to deliver fast operational value while supporting long-term resilience and sustainability objectives.
Pilot projects and early deployments of EcoStruxure™ Water Advisor are currently underway with utilities worldwide.
