New Initiative by ISAS to improve Students' Academic Performance
  • Classes to begin at 8:30 AM & finish at 2:45 PM
  • School curriculum introduces the ‘Innovation & Technology' course as of Grade1

Dubai, UAE, October 17, 2016:   As part of its continued efforts to improve the academic performance and well-being of students, International School of Arts and Sciences (ISAS), managed by academic solutions provider Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI), has revised its school timings for the 2016-2017 academic year. The School has also introduced a new course as of Grade1 - ‘Innovation & Technology' - to enrich the students' overall learning experience.

Several Studies have shown that students who received about nine hours of sleep displayed a marked improvement in the classroom environment. Getting quality sleep can help protect mental health, weight control, increased learning & attention span and emotional regulation.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Muhieddine Soubra – Principal of ISAS said, “With schools starting, children need to be reminded of the fact that getting enough sleep plays a vital role in their academic performance. Students who are sleep deprived not only have difficulty in learning, retaining memory and concentration, but are also at health risks like impaired metabolism, appetite hormones and brain development. At ISAS, we are committed to providing our students with an up-to-date and versatile curriculum, whilst striving to improve their well-being and overall development. The classes for the new academic year will begin at 8:30 PM instead of 7:50 AM, and finish at 2:45 PM.”

ISAS strongly believes that extending a child's education beyond the classroom plays a significant role in developing important aspects of his/her social and cognitive development. In line with this belief, the school has introduced the ‘Innovation & Technology' course as of Grade 1 to offer students an opportunity to deepen their understanding in applied Science, Math, Technology and Art.

“Our primary objective, through these initiatives, is to contribute to the nation's overall vision of developing responsible, creative, and healthy students for national and global success,” added Mr. Soubra.
