Dubai Customs sees first-hand how Huawei ensures compliance with Customs laws and contributes to supply chain security

Dubai, UAE, June 18, 2016: Dubai Customs has enhanced its outreach to the global business community with a senior delegation visit to Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen, China. To learn first-hand about Huawei’s best practices in areas related to supply chain and customs compliance was the main objective of the visit.
The delegation’s mission to Huawei was geared to promote coordination and share expertise towards the improvement of work mechanisms and processes as well as services offered to customers.
High on the delegation's agenda was the structure of Huawei compliance management system and the regulations they follow to ensure their operations are compliant with Customs laws in more than 170 countries that house their operations.
After touring some of Huawei showrooms and one of their factories, Dubai Customs officials explored with the company prospective ways to boost cooperation in customs processes and unified communications applied by the largest telecommunications equipment maker in the world, and their role in delivering the next generation of solutions for safety and security concerns.
As part of the visit, Huawei took DC officials on a sightseeing tour to visit the popular attractions in China, such as the famous Great Wall and the Forbidden City, to discover its rich heritage and history.
The deputation of Dubai Customs comprised Ekhlas Al Mutawa, Customs Audit Director; Ghaneema Ibrahim Ahmed, Customs Refunds & Makasa Director; Fareeda Fadhil, Customs Valuation Director; and Narmin Ahmad Issa, Legal Affairs Director.
