Dow appoints Fadi Matar as Public & Government Affairs Director for India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey

Dubai, UAE – 22 March 2016: The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced today the appointment of Fadi Matar as its Public & Government Affairs Director for India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey.
Within his new role, Matar will develop Dow’s regional public and government affairs strategies and engage with key stakeholders to support the company’s growing presence and business objectives across the region. Matar will be based at the Dow Chemical Middle East headquarters in Emaar Square, Dubai.
“India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey are critical markets for us and public and government affairs play a key role in developing positive relationships with our stakeholders,” said Markus Wildi, President Dow IMEAT. “We are very pleased to have Fadi lead that team and bring over 15 years of regional experience to benefit Dow and enhance our brand presence in the region.”
Prior to his new role, Matar was Public & Government Leader for the Middle East and North Africa region, having initially joined Dow in June 2014 as Public Affairs Leader – MENA. Matar served as the Corporate Communications director for Dow’s joint venture in Kuwait, EQUATE Petrochemical Company before moving to Dow. There, he headed the Corporate Communications Group with responsibilities that included brand management and development, public relations, advertising, digital marketing, media and internal communications.
Matar’s previous experience includes organizations such as American Express, where he was the Marketing Director managing 19 countries in the region, and Citibank where he was the Assistant Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing Services based in the UAE. He has also driven regional and global brand transformation projects for renowned organizations, and has past experience leading Investor Relations in prior roles.
