Superior combination of metallic body and multi-fingerprint sensor that places the future in your palm
Dubai, UAE, February 8, 2016: honor, the number 1 smartphone e-brand has officially launched its critically acclaimed* 5X ‘street smart’ device in the Middle East, available from 8th February on www.HonorArabia.com. With a superior combination of full metal body that screams ‘premium’, multi-fingerprint sensor and innovative yet solid specs, this 5X device far outweighs competitors in the same price range and is already referred to as a ‘budget beast’.
The honor 5X will be the first smartphone to be launched by the brand via the newly launched dedicated e-commerce platform and will be available in three colours - Gold, Grey and Silver - at the RKRP (Recommended ‘Killer’ Retail Price) of AED 899. A middle-weight champion in the making, the honor 5X has been designed with all the high spec technology and design consumers actually want, but without the expected price tag.
Chris Sunbaigong, Vice President of honor from Huawei commented, “Globally, the reception to our honor 5X device has been phenomenal so we are delighted to finally launch it to our customers here in the Middle East. The honor 5X is set to change consumers mind when it comes to price versus quality as it is packed with premium features that have never been seen before in its price category. This underlines our ongoing commitment to the end smartphone users here – we are genuinely offering unmatchable experience to digital natives who are value conscious. We challenge you to look at the specs, look at the price, then look back at the specs and not be impressed.”
The honor 5X second generation fingerprint sensor offers the end user the chance to personalise their smartphone experience in a single touch. The adaptive sensor allows the user to easily set up all ten fingerprints to access personalised elements of their device, call specific contacts or activate apps and tools. The feature offers speed and accuracy, as well as a 0.5-second unlocking time. Using advanced technology, it boasts a self-learning capability that also prevents failed recognition caused by wet hands or partial fingerprints.
The design of the full metal device was inspired by the shape and design of the famous Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Spain, blending a distinctive curved design with ergonomic principles to feel perfectly at home in users’ hands. The device features a 5.5-inch 10-point multi-touch Full-HD IPS display and houses cutting-edge 13MP back facing and 5MP front facing cameras that capture high-quality images with high clarity and dynamic colour reproduction in a variety of different shooting scenarios. Happy snappers will revel in the number of camera feature modes available including Good Food, Perfect Selfie, Time-lapse, Slow Motion as well as an array of in-built filters.
Powered by a Qualcomm 64-bit Octa-core processor with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard memory, the honor 5X is a powerful devices with a robust 3,000mAh battery, integrated SmartPower 3.0 technology and an eight-point power saving plan that reduces power consumption by 30 per cent. This is the first metallic honor phone to feature three different card slots — nano-SIM, micro-SIM, and microSD — perfect device for the multi-tasking digital natives in the Middle East.
Chris Sunbaigong predicts that the Middle East market is ripe to project honor’s growth ahead of the curve this year, boosted further with the launch of the brand’s e-commerce site and the 5X, “We are positive about honor’s future in the Middle East this year which is set to grow and develop even further now that we have launched our dedicated e-commerce platform. The www.HonorArabia.com site is a place where consumers can browse and shop honor products directly for the first time including the new honor 5X.”
