Emirates Post Group to issue stamps to commemorate Martyrs' Day on November 30

Dubai, September 8, 2015: Emirates Post Group (EPG) will issue special stamps to commemorate Martyrs’ Day, which is being observed annually on November 30, as per the decree issued by the President of UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in memory of UAE martyrs who laid down their lives to keep the UAE flag flying high while performing their national duty within and outside the country, in civilian, military and humanitarian fields.
Mr. Fahad Al Hosani, Acting CEO of Emirates Post Group, said the decision to commemorate Martyrs’ Day through special stamps reflects EPG’s spirit of national loyalty and solidarity with those who serve the nation selflessly and fearlessly.
Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer of EPG, said issuing of the special stamps to mark Martyrs’ Day is an the initiative of EPG employees, stemming from their desire to perpetuate the martyrs’ memory and record their achievement in letters of gold. The design of the stamps will be selected through a competition. The stamps will be released in all UAE post offices on November 30.
Mr. Bin Karam offered heartfelt condolences of EPG employees to the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander in Chief of UAE Armed Forces and their brothers Their Highnesses Members of the UAE Supreme Council, and Rulers of all Emirates, as well as the families of martyrs and the people of the UAE loyal to the martyrs.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Emirates Post Group visited families of the martyrs who were killed while carrying out their national duty in support of the Yemeni people’s rights in Yemen. A separate delegation of women employees also visited the families of martyrs to offer their condolences and convey the message of the "Mother of the Nation," Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, that we all salute them and stand by them.
