Dubai – 7 June 2015: In response to the initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to daily measure the public’s happiness and satisfaction with government services, Dubai Customs launched, on Sunday June 7, 2015,” Mestanis” campaign which stands for (Are You Happy). Introduced at DC head offices in the presence of H.E DC Director Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, the campaign will help Customs decision-makers understand which Customs services customers are and are not pleased with.
The campaign shall be circulated and adopted across customs centers, DC web portal, smart mobile applications, and smart utilities at service centers. “Happiness Meter” icons will be added to present three visual options: the first resembling contentment and happiness, the second reflecting the medium level of satisfaction with the level of service provided, and the third designated for expressing dissatisfaction with the service.
A host of Dubai Customs officials attended the launch event with the presence of Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of Customs Development Division, Abdullah Mohammed Al Khaja, Executive Director of Customer Management Division, Butti Al Jumairi, Executive Director of the Human Resources, Administration and Finance Division.
“This campaign comes in line with the directives and vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid describing that the Government of the future works 24/7 and 365 days a year. It is as hospitable as hotels, fast in delivering and strong in its procedures. Aiming at for government to reach people instead of them having to reach it. A government that is innovative and adaptive. It improves the quality of life and helps people achieve happiness,” Director of Dubai Customs, H.E Ahmed Mahboob Musabih commented.
“In response to the directives and bright vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Dubai Customs in collaboration with Dubai Smart Government Department provided the technical support and ensured the full capacity adoption at all sea, land and air ports in order to implement the “Happiness Meter” initiative. Two hundred and seven smart tablets were distributed and allocated across these locations in order to be at the reach of all clients.”
H.E Ahmed Mahboob reiterated upon Dubai Customs effective policy in maintaining strong ties with clients, which is perceived as a key factor of the organization’s acknowledged success. The DC already established Dubai Customs Consultative Council to better forge the positive two-way relationship with clients, which further improves the decision making process.
The world-class customs procedures and services provided by Dubai Customs resulted in a customer satisfaction rate of 91.2% in 2014, increasing from 89.2% scored in 2013 as per a survey conducted by the Executive Council, he said.
“Despite the increasing volumes of inbound passengers and cargo, we have achieved great milestones in 2014. Across the board, top-notch services were provided to DC customers as we dealt with more than 70 million passengers who travelled through Dubai International Airport, with around 45 million luggage bags,” Musabih remarked.
The Director of Dubai Customs affirmed that DC is strongly committed to adopting and introducing such innovative initiatives that keep pace with the latest service delivery technologies worldwide, in pursuance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid’s vision of making people happy within a public environment of well-being and prosperity..
