Al Ansari Exchange grants half a million dirhams to Emirates Foundation

UAE, May 17, 2015 – In line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, Al Ansari Exchange, the UAE-based company that provides worldwide remittance and foreign exchange services, has announced a grant of AED 500,000 to Emirates Foundation, an independent philanthropic organisation set up by the Abu Dhabi Government to facilitate public-private partnerships for empowering youth across the UAE.

The grant will support some of the Foundation’s engagement and development programmes designed to create and nurture various initiatives for the empowerment of Emirati youth aimed at making a positive social impact in the country.

The grant agreement was signed by Clare Woodcraft-Scott, Chief Executive Officer at Emirates Foundation and Mohamed Ali Al Ansari, Chairman and Managing Director of Al Ansari Exchange, in the presence of senior management from both parties.
 
Mohamed Al Ansari, Chairman and Managing Director of Al Ansari Exchange, said: “We remain firmly committed to playing an active role in the society as part of the company’s CSR strategy. We are confident that this collaboration with Emirates Foundation will help their innovative programs to further empower young Emiratis, allowing them to make a valuable contribution towards the country’s social and economic progress”.

Expressing his appreciation for Al Ansari Exchange’s support, Mohanna Al Muhairi, Chief Operating Officer at Emirates Foundation said: "Emirates Foundation works in partnership with Al Ansari Exchange and the private and public sectors to impact the lives of the UAE youth positively and permanently. It also aims to develop sustainable enterprise based solutions to social issues and motivate UAE youth to volunteer and make positive contributions to their communities."

Al Muhairi added: “We believe that youth, if empowered and engaged, are the catalyst for positive change. Therefore, the Emirates Foundation works towards creating professional and personal opportunities for Emirati youth to bring about positive change, which, in turn, contributes to the UAE’s overall social development.”

Al Muhairi said the grant from Al Ansari Exchange will be used to support Emirates Foundation’s youth development programmes to address current social issues. The Foundation’s programmes are Esref Sah (Financial Literacy), Kafa’at (Leadership and Empowerment), Kayani (Vocational Training), Think Science (Stem), Takatof (Community Volunteering), and Sanid (Emergency Response Volunteering).
