DuPont to sponsor USA Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015

Dubai, UAE—May 03, 2015 – DuPont, an integrated science company focused in Agriculture and Nutrition, Biobased Industrials and Advanced Materials, has announced its participation at Expo Milano 2015 taking place from May 1 until October 31, 2015 in Milan, Italy themed ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’.
As a Sponsoring Partner of the USA Pavilion, DuPont will host a variety of events, beginning with the DuPont Forum on Food and Agriculture: Rural and Urban Innovations on May 19, 2015. The Forum will feature a keynote address by DuPont’s Executive Vice President James C. Borel. It will also have an expert panel comprising Robin Bew, Managing Director, Economic Intelligence Unit and Rikin Gandhi, CEO, Digital Green, along with other representatives from government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Moderated by business journalist Adam Shaw, the panel will brainstorm on topics such as food security; innovative technologies, processes, and approaches; and the impact of programs and policies on the world’s ability to feed itself in the present and in the future.
In addition, the Forum will present a special report from the Economic Intelligence Unit in its refreshed Global Food Security Index (GFSI), a dynamic tool sponsored by DuPont that discusses the world’s food challenge across three dimensions – affordability, availability, and quality and safety across a set of 109 countries. It will be streamed live at http://foodsecurity.dupont.com/. Moreover, DuPont will bring influencers together to engage with customers, policymakers, and industry players.

Organized every five years, the latest edition of the Universal Exposition will be held as Expo Milano under the theme ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for life.’ Over a period of six months, 148 confirmed official participants from 53 countries, international organizations such as the UN and EU, and leading NGOs will gather to promote their technology and advocate the best practices in food security. More than 20 million visitors are anticipated to visit the global event spread over 1.1 million sqm of exhibition area, with nine international clusters devoted to a specific food or agricultural group.
